I don't post journal entries here. That's what the blog is for: charlenefleming.blogspot.com/ .
A very brief update here for posterity, however: I graduated SJSU last May with a BFA Animation/Illustration. I've done some random illustration work, in the meantime. In January 2009, I started working as a Concept/3D Artist for a San Francisco-based game company. I am also working on rewriting/redrawing "Of Rogues and Robbers" (graphic novel) for publication. I am totally a professional now.

A Post for Posterity
Considering that it's been about a year and a half since I wrote something in this space, I thought it time to update. I have a blog now: http://charlenefleming.blogspot.com/. Since the last post, I lost my job, visited New York, visited London, visited Paris (for a whole month), found a new job, recently lost that job, started an internship at Electronic Arts, and applied for graduation. There's still some stuff up in the air regarding my graduation paperwork and some transfer credits from my junior college but at any rate, I will be done with college at the end of this spring. Whether I will receive my actual degree this summer, fall, or ne

I return from the void. School was something else entirely, this semester. I know that my website went down some time in April but I've spent the last 3 weeks redesigning it and sifting through all my art from the last 6 months and cataloguing it. But the new site is up for perusal. I still have to fix the color scheme on it, though. It looked a lovely blue on my laptop but I just checked it out on my desktop (which I finally got back from repairs last week... it died last summer) and it looks an unsettling desaturated green/blue. Will remedy immediately.
I'm trying to get a new job for the summer. As much as I'd love to spend the entire sum
Devious Journal Entry
Sorry to go AWOL for over 4 months. As you've probably gathered, I got completely buried by school and work. Just totally slammed like you wouldn't believe. I won't be working next semester. Not gonna do it. And I've got to post some of the work I did over the semester too.
Now let's see if I can't get ORAR back up and running again. Gawd, I missed doing my own art. The desktop computer died this summer again and I still don't have it back. It's not really a problem since I've got my laptop except that my FTP program was on the other computer. Now I have no way of updating my website because I can't locate a copy of the install cd to put WS_

In case anyone's wondering why I haven't posted new ORAR pages or updated the website on time:
I had to send the desktop in for repairs along with the scanner. There are pages... there just isn't a way to get them posted. Hopefully they should be up by the end of next week.

Hello! I am a prospective transfer student to SJSU for their animation program, and I have a few questions for you, if you don't mind!
1) Do you believe SJSU's Animation/Illustration program was helpful in aiding you towards find jobs before/after graduation or in general?
2) It sounds like you concentrated in Illustration but I'll ask anyway--how is their animation program? Are the students pleased with what they are studying?
3) Are there any negative aspects about the animation/illustration program that you can honestly comment about?
Thank you for your time!
